Synergy
Yes, synergy is a hilariously ironic meaningless buzzword. But there is a damn good feeling you get from being part of a shared enterprise where everyone is enthusiastic and talented in equal measure. Is the word for that synergy? Maybe.
Bottom line is it’s been a ridiculously productive, fun day and I’ve got a dictaphone full of interviews to turn into stories tomorrow. It feels good to be a working journalist again, even if (at this stage) the money is hypothetical. But what does it matter? Money’s always hypothetical; it’s the work that matters. Someone, somewhere, said: do what you love for long enough, and eventually someone will start paying you for it. Looks like that’s starting to come true.
